As someone who has almost broken their finger swiping on Tinder, let me tell you, the dating apps are hard. People rarely go on dates, ghosting is REAL, and putting yourself out there is scary. I will say though, when all the pieces finally come together, a first date can be really fun. With all my experience of downloading, deleting and redownlowing dating apps, Tinder has been one of my favourites. Yes, it’s considered a hookup app, but sometimes I find my most non-hookup dates on there…and a good hookup once in a while.
Here’s where Tinder’s media campaign comes into play. #ItStartsWithASwipe is Tinder’s way of attracting new app users and maybe some old ones like myself… they’re cute aesthetic and charm really caught my attention and made me redownload the app…again.

I’m a fan of a late-night swipe, and the regret that happens in the morning when you realize you now have to talk to your matches if you want to go on a date. But, have no fear, because I have some dating tips for you from a reaaaal professional.
- Always be upfront about your intentions: We don’t have time for people who don’t want the same things as us, so take that into account when someone tells you what they’re looking for as well.
- Verify your profile: it makes it easier to know who to trust and that you won’t be walking into a catfish scenario!
- Have fun! Dating can be scary, yes…but it also can be fun. If you want a boyfriend, you gotta get up off that couch and put your steamy book down. (Trust me, I get it.)
